Where will the banner be located?

Lastly, the background behind the banner will also need to be factored into the design, color, and layout.  For example, a retractable banner or pop up banner might be a better fit if it will be displayed next to retail goods or in the middle of your shop.  Or go with a grommet banner if you want it to hang above your store entrance.

It is best to decide the main purpose behind your banner.  Is it simply for enticing customers into your store by showcasing your brand’s visual aesthetic?  Or do you want a more specific call to action like a special promotion or sale?  Potential customers will have a clearer message when you decide on the purpose behind your banner.

Contrast & colors

The colors implemented in your banner should highlight the words you use. High contrast is generally the best way to go.

A readable font

A bold modern font will keep readability high and give your banner a sleek and eye-catching look.  Avoid difficult to read or unusual fonts.  You also want to arrange your message in order of importance.  For example, a “Sale” banner might have the word sale in the thickest or boldest font, followed by the percentage discount offered to customers in a thinner font.  You can then add your business logo and website in a smaller font to the bottom of your banner.

Upload your banner design

Once you’ve completed your banner design you can upload your file onto Guru Printer’s portal and leave the rest for the banner printers.  Remember to give us high resolution files if photos or illustrative images are in your banner.  We recommend Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator file formats when uploading.
